Starting a Project MAHMA Chapter

Starting is simple. The main organizing event that everyone in your area can rally around is a Project MAHMA First Step Training.

  1. Set a date for a Project MAHMA First Step Training (give yourself about a month).
Any place will work - only increase the size of your space as needed. Apartment clubhouses are great after you outgrow living rooms. Perhaps you have someone who knows someone with a big house that would love to help moms stay home with their kids by making her home available? Be resourceful - remember there are women who are searching for a solution to their needs. We have a mission to help them and there are lots of ways people can join the mission - lending a large living room, etc.
  2. Inform the Shaklee business builders in your area and ask them to invite people to the event.
Who else in your area would want to participate? Publicize your First Step Training through meetings@shaklee.com (send us a flyer with the details and contact information, and we will send it to all Business Leaders in your area). You can also ask us to include the info about your training in the Project MAHMA Weekly Update by emailing projectmahma@shaklee.com. Be ready for a big response! Or, you can contact other leaders you know and keep it smaller.
  3. Everyone start inviting new people to listen to live or archived Project MAHMA calls.
(An example of a script to help you be successful is below.)
If someone says the calls are too long to listen to, suggest they listen to 15 –20 minutes to see if they are interested.
  4. Follow up with people after they listen to the call. If they are interested, start working with them right away and invite them to your First Step Training.
  5. Don't wait for the First Step Training to get started!
Use all the excellent tools we have to forward the action. Get support from your upline Business Leaders.
  6. "Shakleeize" with the Fast Start to Wellness Distributor Kit, or by changing brands.
  7. Have your new people start finding other moms who might be interested and inviting them to listen to the calls (steps 3 - 6). Make sure everyone knows where to go for support.
  8. After the inviting wheels are in motion, work together with the leaders who are involved, to organize the First Step Training.
Don't worry about doing it right. Download the training booklet and follow it. Involve MAHMA in every aspect you can. The natural energy will leave people touched, moved and inspired. Download the First Step Training PowerPoint presentation. (Note: It's OK to charge a nominal fee per person to participate. Other groups have charged $10-$15 per person to cover costs of the meeting space and materials. You can also ask your participants to download their own booklet from the MyShaklee.com web site.)
  9. Repeat as needed, all of the above to ensure the success of the new people.
  10. Get together with the active builders in your local Chapter to host one of the weekly Saturday Conference Calls for Project MAHMA, featuring people in your organization or in your area. This is a terrific activity for the health of your business, since those who provide testimonials typically have new people listening in. And hosting a call is a great way to recognize growers and their enthusiasm for the difference they've made in other people's lives!
  11. Have fun!!!

Project MAHMA invitation script. (The following is a script being used by one group in approaching their 'warm market' – people they know.) This script is a suggested guideline. Before speaking to anyone, practice until you can do it in your own words without the paper. Being in a good conversation mode with the person to whom you are talking is the objective.

Suggested call invitation script:

  • Hey, [Prospect's name], how's it going? Do you have a few minutes to talk? I was wondering if I could get your help with something?
  • I (we) have been looking for a way to help families be united and make their dreams come true, and I've finally found it.
  • It's called Project MAHMA...Moms At Home Making A difference and a lot of money.
  • Project MAHMA is a global coalition of families who have already accomplished being able to stay home and they are helping others who want to do that too.
  • I (we) need help getting the word out to those people who are looking for what we have to offer. Could you listen in on a conference call and then let me know who you think might want to hear about this??? They will really appreciate your help and so will I (we).
  • There's a live call on Saturday mornings. The call is about 45 minutes. When can you listen to it, and when can we talk? (Set a time. If they don't want to listen to a 45-minute call, ask them to listen to 15-20 minutes so they get a sense of what it is about.)
